2012 All-New Porsche Carrera: Porsche Active Suspension Management (Part 8/12)

PORSCHE Euorpe: Official Press Release

The new Porsche 911 Carrera

Revamped PASM with Additional Sports Chassis Option

The PASM active suspension system was revamped and upgraded for the new 911 Carrera. PASM is fitted as standard in the Carrera S and available as an option in the Carrera.

Unlike earlier models, four additional height sensors on the front and rear wheels deliver even better control. The result is significantly improved comfort across the entire control range. As before, the driver can choose between the two programs, Normal and Sport, by selecting the PASM button on the centre console.

Once again a PASM sports chassis, including the ability to lower the vehicle by 20 millimetres (0.79 inch), is being offered for the new 911 Carrera models – also with enhanced sensor system. This chassis is partnered with an aerodynamically optimised front spoiler lip and the rear spoiler extends further upwards. The result: significantly improved aerodynamics and further enhanced race circuit performance.
